English Translation

Ziba Came on a Boat

Curled in her mother's arms, Ziba rocks with the motion of a battered, overcrowded boat as it crosses a dark and threatening sea. With every wave, memories return: her village, the sounds and colors of the life she left behind, the people she loved. Fleeing war, Ziba and her mother hold on to the hope of a country that will welcome them, a place of peace where their dreams can finally come true. A moving, beautifully told picture book that invites young readers to understand the experience of refugees with compassion.
