About the Book

Blas is thrilled with his birthday present: a brand-new pair of roller skates! Eager to try them out right away, he heads to the balcony, imagining himself gliding smoothly back and forth. But skating turns out to be much harder than he expected, and he keeps tumbling down. His sister Berta offers to help him, but stubborn Blas insists on learning all by himself. A warm, funny story about patience, persistence, and learning to accept a little help from family along the way.
