Stone Soup

One dark night, an old wolf knocks at the door of the village animals carrying nothing but a stone and a promise: he will cook a delicious stone soup. Curiosity spreads, neighbors arrive one by one, and each adds something to the pot. Anaïs Vaugelade retells this classic European folktale in a large-format picture book where illustration and text build quiet suspense. The hunched wolf looms inside the bright house, his half-closed eyes hinting at other plans, while the shadowy outdoors contrasts with the warm glow within. A story about generosity, sharing, and trust.
