My Life As A Story

Summer vacation has arrived and Derek is imagining all the antics he will do for fun: throwing balloons full of water, stuffing worms into his neighbor's mailbox and dipping toys in paint. There is only one drawback: his teacher came up with the idea of giving him homework on vacation: reading three books. Derek refuses because he believes that it is more interesting to live his own adventures than to read those of others. Reading an old newspaper, Derek is intrigued by the account of a nanny's death. Wanting to get to the bottom of this fact, he discovers a secret about his past and then confirms his theory that amazing stories aren't just in books.
