English Translation

Madlenka

Madlenka has lived on the same block, in the same building, in the same apartment, since the day she was born. Everyone in her New York neighborhood knows her and calls her a friend: the French baker, the Indian newsstand seller, the Italian ice cream man, the German lady who sits by her window, the Latin American greengrocer, and the Asian shopkeeper. For Madlenka, walking around the block feels like traveling around the entire world, discovering the many cultures that make her neighborhood so special.
