The Gardener

La jardinera is a song by Violeta Parra from 1954, in which this great figure of popular music reveals secrets of the wisdom of nature, anchored in her intimate connection with the Earth and its fruits. It is a story about the way in which she is recomposing and healing from a love loss through flowers and how they allow her to feel better. By taking care of her garden, planting and sowing flowers, she would forget her hardship, which is what Violeta's musical parallel between her pain and the flowers refers to.
