The Philharmonic Gets Dressed

It is late on a cold Friday afternoon, and all over the city one hundred and five people begin to get ready. They bathe, they choose their shirts and shoes, they fasten buttons and smooth their black and white clothes. Little by little, these musicians travel across town, gather backstage, tune their instruments, and step into the light to play together as one orchestra. Karla Kuskin's warm, observant story lifts the curtain on the everyday routines behind a concert, offering young readers a charming introduction to the world of classical music.
