English Translation

The Wait

Every afternoon, Joana sits at her front door and waits quietly for her sparrow to arrive. She calls to it with her thoughts, caught between the fear of never seeing it again and the hope that it will return. It is a one-of-a-kind sparrow, with slightly ruffled feathers and a small teardrop-shaped mark on its head. Shy and untouchable, it keeps its distance. What would happen if she could finally hold it in her hands? A tender picture book about patience, longing, and the delicate bond between a girl and a wild bird.
