English Translation

Fable of the Vain Little Mouse

Hortensia the little mouse is as beautiful as she is ambitious and vain. She scorns the affections of Alfredito, a humble mouse, convinced that she should marry someone powerful instead. Her search for an important husband leads her through a chain of surprises in this charming retelling of an ancient Chinese fable. Written with flavor, rhythm and humor by Aquiles Nazoa, a classic author of Latin American children's literature, this rhyming picture book invites young readers to laugh, chime in and think about pride and true love.
