English Translation

The Pout-Pout Fish

Deep in the ocean lives Mr. Fish, who swims along spreading his "dreary-wearies" with a permanent pout on his face. He is sure that gloominess is simply his destiny, until a surprising encounter shows him that he may not be a pout-pout fish after all. This Spanish-language board book edition of the New York Times bestseller The Pout-Pout Fish, translated by Teresa Mlawer, pairs Deborah Diesen's bouncy, playful rhymes with Dan Hanna's bright undersea illustrations. Sturdy pages make it perfect for the littlest hands, and its message about turning frowns into smiles delights toddlers and preschoolers at storytime.
