The Bird of Lies

When Makambacha's older sisters refuse to play with him, the lonely boy longs for a friend. He soon meets the mischievous Bird of Lies, a trickster who loves nothing more than dragging his companions into trouble. Full of humor and sly charm, this folktale-style story introduces a character who may feel surprisingly familiar to readers young and old. A playful tale about sibling rivalry, loneliness, and the temptation of falling in with the wrong "friend," perfect for family read-aloud time.
