The New Kid

Jordan Banks, who is starting this year at a new school, loves to draw comics about his life. However, his parents, instead of fulfilling his dream and sending him to a fine arts school, decide to take him to a prestigious private school noted for its educational quality, where Jordan happens to be one of the few African-American boys. During the daily commute from the Washington Heights apartment where he lives to the exclusive Riverdale Academy, Jordan eventually realizes that he is torn between two worlds and that he doesn't fit into either. Tough enough is high school without adding all the unwritten rules and expectations associated with you being the new kid. Will he be able to learn to navigate the day-to-day life of his new school while keeping his neighborhood friends and staying true to himself?
