English Translation

Columbus' Egg

Antón García, a fifteen-year-old boy who traveled as cabin boy on the Santa María, one of the caravels on which Columbus discovered America, leaves a diary of the voyage. The diary begins on August 5, 1492, a few days after setting sail from the port of Palos de la Frontera. Anton briefly recounts his life and shares with the reader how he met Admiral Columbus and the great admiration he feels for him.
