    Spanish Description

    The Awakening of Cervantes

    About the Book

While searching for the remains of Miguel de Cervantes in a Madrid crypt, archaeologists unwittingly wake the writer's ghost. Barefoot and bewildered, Cervantes wanders into the modern city, where he meets Masile, a boy from Mali who has read Don Quixote and helps him survive by disguising him as his famous hero. Their adventures lead to a film production based on Don Quixote's exploits, where Cervantes' spirit falls in love and embraces the noble, idealistic spirit of his greatest creation. A witty blend of history, fantasy, and friendship.
