Spanish Description

My Sister Dulce's Birthday

About the Book

Six-year-old Dulce loves sweets, which suits her perfectly since her name means "sweet." Most of all she loves the candy inside birthday piñatas, and she and her sister can hardly wait for her party with candles, cake, balloons, music and a piñata of her own. At the store, the choices are dazzling: piñatas shaped like stars, cacti, donkeys, even a guitar, and mountains of mazapanes, tamarindo, toffee and sugar-crusted sweet potato. Claudia Navarro's joyful illustrations capture a traditional Mexican birthday celebration in this bilingual picture book for ages 4-8.
