No One Writes to the Colonel

In this masterful novella by Nobel laureate Gabriel García Márquez, an aging colonel, a veteran of Colombia's civil wars, waits each Friday for a pension letter that never arrives. Living with his ailing wife in quiet poverty, he clings to dignity, hope, and a prized fighting rooster left behind by his late son. Written in spare, precise prose, this Vintage Español edition presents one of the Colombian master's most beloved works in its original Spanish, a moving portrait of perseverance, injustice, and unshakable hope. An essential classic of Latin American literature for advanced Spanish readers.
