Little Bee

Andrew and Sarah, two English journalists, travel to an African beach hoping to save their troubled marriage. Instead, they meet Little Bee and her sister, unwilling witnesses to a massacre, and intervene to protect them from Nigerian security forces. Two years later, a sixteen-year-old Little Bee leaves a detention center for undocumented immigrants and appears at Sarah's door on the day of Andrew's funeral. From that encounter grows a difficult but transforming friendship between two women from utterly different worlds, joined by Sarah's small son Charlie, who fights evil dressed as Batman.
