    Spanish Description

    A Movie in My Pillow

    About the Book

In this award-winning bilingual poetry collection, young Jorgito has come to live in San Francisco's Mission District, but he has not forgotten his native El Salvador — its volcanoes, tasty cornmeal pupusas, and his grandmother's stories. Jorge Argueta's tender poems, presented in both English and Spanish, capture the wonder of childhood in rural El Salvador, a loving bond with a caring father, and the confusion and delight of adjusting to a new life in a new country. Elizabeth Gómez's brilliantly colored paintings celebrate Salvadoran culture and the joy of family reunion. Winner of the Américas Award for Latin American literature.
